Ever felt like doing something more than just reading about suffering animals? Here are some ways to help out.

1. Donate.

This is of the simplest things you can do, but it helps a lot. The SPCA, in order to save more animals currently need another centre; but it's going to cost them 1.5 million dollars to do it. Have a garage or bake sale, or even a lemonade stand on a hot day, and donate the money to the SPCA. Even a few dollars will help.

Get Mum or Dad if you are going to donate online. Go to

to donate.

2. Adopt.

This might seem like a big job, but there are creatures of all shapes and sizes to choose from. Animals range from cats to goats to dogs to chickens. Adopting an animal from the SPCA only requires a donation. You can browse all the animal profiles online, then visit the animals at the SPCA centre, and have a chat to the people working there and ask any questions buzzing around your head. If you get a dog, arrange a free property check to ensure your yard and house are suitable for animals. After a little paperwork, your new, adopted, loving pet is ready to move in! Visit

3. Go Vegetarian!

We know, we've said this so many times, but it really makes a difference! There are so many healthy alternatives that, unlike most meat, is not smothered in chemicals. If you don't want to go the whole way, become pescatarian and still eat fish.

4. Post a Poster

Some people have no idea what cruelty is going on behind the eggs they eat for breakfast, and one of the easiest and most appealing ways to spread awareness is a poster. Put a few facts on the poster and some things people can do to help, and put it up in a public place such as a supermarket or retail store. Make sure that (a the poster is child-friendly and (b that you ask staff from the store/public place before you put up your poster.

5. Tell Your Family and Friends

Uncles, aunties, mums, dads, cousins, siblings, friends, teachers, grandparents, we all know some of these people. Make sure that these people know what's happening too!

At Save the Creatures, we encourage you to do one of these things to make a difference, be it big or small. Lao Tzu once said:

' A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.'

He is correct. Save the Creatures!
