Dairy Farming Cruelty

Modern cows are bred to produce unnaturally high levels of milk. They experience a lot of pressure on their innocent bodies.

Another problem is that calves are removed from their mothers at birth, which is extremely distressing for the mother, but incredibly frightening and daunting for the poor newborn cow.

As there is not much demand for the meat or company of young male calves, they are simply thrown (literally) into a slaughter truck. The least people could do is to peacefully put them down, or check for loving owners, but no, they are just slaughtered. These unoffending cows are nicknamed ‘bobby cows’.

These are only a few of the current problems with animal treatment in the dairy industry.

Next time you buy a mince and cheese pie, look for the blue SPCA tick.
